I’m a California native but call New England home with my small family. Between work, I sprinkle in hard workouts with a heavy dose of baked goods. If I could choose an alternate career, I would be an animal rescuer!
I also live for travel and my time through Asia, Africa, Central and South America, Europe inspired my study of the human mind. Meeting children selling trinkets on the streets of Cambodia, for example, challenged my notions of what optimal learning and cognitive development looks like. These children were learning and embodied resilience. My travels and experiences like this inspired my scientific questions about the impacts of social and emotional environments on our minds and brains.
